SHOUT是《攝影之聲》出版的一份不定型特輯系列,本輯內含四份影像小輯,分別收錄台灣年輕創作者——鄭亭亭、李立中、劉芸怡、羅晟文的作品。從觀光消費主義的圖像文化、台式傳統宮廟的現代性變奏、邊緣島嶼頹圮的歷史軌跡,乃至全球核彈引爆點的地景檔案,我們在景觀社會中挪移、探勘、疑惑、思索⋯⋯
SHOUT is a special issue series published by Voices of Photography with no stylistic limitations. This issue contains four image compilations by four young artists from Taiwan —— Ting-Ting Cheng, Li-Chung Lee, Yun-Yi Liu and Sheng-Wen Lo. From the image culture of mass tourist consumerism to the modern variation of traditional Taiwanese temples, to the historical accounts behind the ruins of a marginal island and even the image archives of nuclear detonation sites around the world, we are moving along in this society of the spectacle, exploring, doubting and thinking about the sights and sounds that we experience…
關於四位創作者 About the artists
鄭亭亭,1985年出生於台北,輔仁大學廣告傳播學系畢業,2009年畢業於倫敦西敏大學攝影學碩士,2014年獲得倫敦金匠大學純藝術碩士學位;2011年入選台北美術獎、2012年入選台北藝術博覽會MIT新人特區,並獲香港《透視》雜誌選為亞洲前40位年輕藝術工作者,曾於台灣新苑藝術、台北市立美術館、香港Identity Gallery、日本Nomart、倫敦Rowan Arts、Iniva、西班牙Addaya藝術中心以及Luis Adelantado藝廊舉辦個展。鄭亭亭的創作興趣包含文化和國家認同或不同社會團體之間的互動,她利用攝影、錄像、互動、裝置,邀請觀眾參與藝術創作的過程以及結果。
李立中,生於1980年,台南人。2003年畢業於中國文化大學印刷傳播系,2006年作品《彼女の遊楽園》獲東京日本EPSON影像創作大賞佐內正史評審特別賞,2011年於台南海馬迴光畫館藝廊舉辦「海/LaMer」首次攝影個展,2012年入選高雄獎,2015年獲頒台南新藝獎、桃源創作獎等藝術獎項。曾在台北從事雜誌美術編輯工作,現定居台南。近年來熱衷台灣庶民文化的情感細節與流動,慣用攝影影像及跨媒材應用呈現當今世代的深層樣貌和生活狀態,也迷戀賽鴿歸巢本能,欲透過賽鴿文化研究,對歸屬、宿命、全球化後的處境等議題,建構自我對話的路徑。
劉芸怡,出生於台中,2005年畢業於國立台北藝術大學,2010年德國Burg Giebichenstein藝術學院碩士畢業(Diplom學位),2014年獲德國Burg Giebichenstein藝術學院藝術家最高文憑(Meisterschülerin)。 2011年至2017年於德國柏林、耶拿、施瓦倫貝格、土耳其伊斯坦堡、台北國際藝術村、高雄駁二藝術特區以及台南蕭壠文化園區等地駐村。2013年獲世安美學獎:造型藝術類。2015年獲台南新藝獎。2016年獲桃源創作獎入選。作品曾獲文化部藝術銀行及國立台灣美術館青年藝術家作品典藏。
羅晟文,1987年生於台灣高雄,畢業於荷蘭AKV|St.Joost攝影藝術碩士班、台大電機研究所電腦音樂實驗室,現旅居荷蘭;他常使用攝影、錄像、電玩、裝置等媒材思考人、動物與環境間的關係,科學方法與思維也是他創作的重要元素。他的近作 《白熊計劃》、《MELK》、《TUNA》、《落塵》曾於阿姆斯特丹電影美術館、紐約ICP攝影美術館、英國FORMAT攝影節、Belfast攝影節、克羅埃西亞Organ Vida攝影節,與連州影展展出。他曾獲FORMAT攝影節、Organ Vida攝影節與Young Art Taipei專家面對面首獎。
Ting-Ting Cheng was born in 1985 in Taipei. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in advertising and public relations from Fu-Jen University, Cheng moved to London, and received her first masters degree in Photographic Studies from the University of Westminster in 2009, followed by a Masters of Fine Arts from Goldsmiths College, University of London in 2014. She was also shortlisted for the Taipei Art Award in 2011 and featured in Art Taipei 2012’s Made in Taiwan Young Artist Discovery segment. Selected by Hong Kong’s Perspective Magazine as one of the Top 40 artists in Asia, Cheng has held solo exhibitions at the Taipei Fine Art Museum, Identity Gallery in Hong Kong, Normart in Japan, Rowan Arts and Iniva in London, and the Addaya Art Centre and Luis Adelantado in Spain. Cheng’s creative interests include cultural and national identities, and the interaction between different social groups. Through the use of photography, videos, interaction and props, Cheng invites her audiences to join her in the process and the fruition of her artistic creations.
Li-Chung Lee was born in 1980 in Tainan. He graduated from the Department of Information and Communication, Chinese Culture University in 2003. In 2006, Lee was awarded the Special Jury Award of the Epson Color Imaging Contest in Japan with “Her Paradise” and held his first solo exhibition, “LaMer”, at the Tainan Fotoaura Institute of Photography in 2011. He was selected for the Kaohsiung Awards in 2012 and in 2015, he received the Next Art Taiwan award, as well as the Taoyuan Creation Award, among others. Lee used to work as a magazine graphic designer in Taipei but he has since relocated to Tainan. In recent years, he has taken an interest in the emotional details and flow of Taiwan’s popular culture. He often uses photography and cross-media forms to present the complex outlook of today’s society and the state of life. He is also deeply intrigued by the homing instincts of the pigeons and through his research, he tries to construct a path to self-dialogue on issues such as sense of belonging, fate, and the post-globalization situation.
Yun-Yi Liu was born in Taichung. She obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Taipei National University of the Arts in 2005, Diplom from Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle in Germany in 2010, and the Meisterschülerin, the highest artist diploma from Burg Giebichenstein in 2014. Between 2011 and 2017, Liu held residencies in internationally renowned art villages in Berlin, Jena and Schwalenberg, Germany, Istanbul, Turkey, as well as the Taipei Artist Village, the Pier-2 Art Center in Kaohsiung and the Soulangh Artist Village in Tainan. Liu was awarded the received S-An Aesthetics Award (Plastic Arts category) from the S-An Cultural Foundation in 2013, the Next Art Tainan Award in 2015 and received Honorable Mention at the Taoyuan Contemporary Art Award in 2016. Her works were also acquired by the Art Bank, established by the Ministry of Culture, and the Young Artist Collection of the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts.
Sheng-Wen Lo was born in 1987, Taiwan, currently based in the Netherlands. He is interested in contemporary human-animal relationships, and attempts to spark off debates. He uses still and moving images, video games and installations. He received his MA in Photography from AKV|St.Joost in the Netherlands, and MSc in Computer Science from the Computer Music Lab at National Taiwan University. Having also been working as a scientist, scientific values and methodologies are crucial to his works. His recent work was shown in EYE Filmmuseum and Fotofestival Naarden in The Netherlands, ICP Museum in New York, FORMAT Photo Festival in UK, Belfast Photo Festival in Northern Ireland, Organ Vida Photo Festival in Croatia, and LianZhou Foto Festival in China. He is the winner of portfolio reviews at FORMAT Photo Festival (2017), Organ Vida Photo Festival (2016), and Young Art Taipei (2015).
